Super Administrator

The Super Administrator operates at the platform level. This is not a role held by facility staff, it belongs to the organisation or team responsible for deploying and maintaining the LAMISPlus platform.

What they manage

The Super Administrator controls the entire LAMISPlus instance, everything above the facility level.

Health Organisations (Tenants) Each organisation on the platform is called a tenant. A tenant might be a national health programme, a hospital network, or a healthcare institution. The Super Administrator creates each tenant and decides which clinical modules it has access to.

Clinical Module Control LAMISPlus clinical modules, EHR, public health, inpatient, pharmacy, billing, and others, are installed and activated at the platform level. The Super Administrator enables modules for specific tenants. A tenant running only HIV services, for example, would have the Public Health module enabled but might not need Inpatient or Billing.

Platform Health The Super Administrator monitors the health of the entire platform, all organisations, all facilities, all active modules. If a module is experiencing issues at one facility, it is visible here.

What they do not do

The Super Administrator does not manage day-to-day clinical data, patient records, or individual user accounts at the facility level. Those responsibilities belong to Tenant Administrators and Facility Administrators. The Super Administrator works above the clinical layer.

Who holds this role

Typically this is the platform deployment and operations team, health informatics officers managing the system on behalf of their organisation, or technical leads overseeing multi-facility deployments.

For creating and managing organisations and their administrators, see Tenant Administrator.
